About the job

Amazon’s Operations Engineering Networking (ONE) org is looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager to spearhead the transformation of how we operate and measure a global network that powers everything from neighborhood grocery stores to the most advanced robotics fulfillment centers on the planet. You’ll own the strategy for self governed AI-generated operations and the financial intelligence framework that proves our infrastructure investments are compounding, ensuring that as the network scales, the cost to operate it does not.

Responsibilities

- The cross-organizational strategy for AI-generated network operations, turning built self governed automation primitives into a unified platform that shifts engineering capacity from maintenance to innovation

- The network economics framework: cost per port, cost per gigabit, cost per square foot — automated, continuously updated, and used to guide investment selections and drive accountability

- The financial methodology that connects each program to a defensible outcome — cost avoidance, OpEx elimination, headcount efficiency, and availability improvement

- Operational metrics and business reviews — the executive-level narrative, trending analysis, variance explanation, and the “so what” behind every number

- Goal health across the organization — ensuring program status is accurate, recovery plans are credible, and risks are escalated before they become surprises

- Adoption targets for automation across all engineering verticals — defining what “good” looks like, measuring coverage, and holding teams accountable for progress

Qualifications

Minimum

1. 7+ years of technical product or program management experience

2. 10+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

3. 5+ years of software development experience

4. Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

5. Experience communicating results to senior leadership, or experience in building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making

6. Experience driving technology adoption or automation strategy across teams that operate independently

7. Deep understanding of system architectures, their limitations, and the trade-offs between technical and business requirements

8. Track record of decomposing complex, ambiguous problems into straightforward mechanisms that persist without your direct involvement

Preferred

1. 8+ years of hands-on work managing complex technology projects experience

2. Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

3. Experience working with networks, IT infrastructure, or system integration

4. Experience building and analyzing cost/benefit scenarios and business cases and communicating results throughout the organization

5. Experience with AI/ML operations strategy or driving AI adoption in engineering organizations

6. Demonstrated ability to create mechanisms that align organizations toward common goals without positional authority

7. Familiarity with network technologies sufficient to understand engineering trade-offs and question technical proposals
