About the job
As a Research Scientist on our team, you will find optimal combinatorial solutions to very large scale scheduling problems. You will work closely with other senior technical leaders within the team and across AWS. Our team is still at an early stage, so you will have significant impact on our deliverables with no operational load from existing models/systems.
Responsibilities
- Find optimal combinatorial solutions to very large scale scheduling problems
- Work closely with other senior technical leaders within the team and across AWS
- Solve highly complex engineering and algorithmic problems
- Design and deliver scalable, resilient systems while maintaining a constant customer focus
Qualifications
Minimum
- PhD, or Master's degree and 4+ years of quantitative field research experience
- Experience investigating the feasibility of applying scientific principles and concepts to business problems and products
- Experience analyzing both experimental and observational data sets
Preferred
- Knowledge of R, MATLAB, Python or similar scripting language
- Experience with agile development
- Experience building web based dashboards using common frameworks
