Sr Manager, Product Management - Tech, AI Cost Governance, AWS Insights and Optimizations

About the job

We're building the future of cloud financial management, and the hardest unsolved problem in it is AI cost. Customers are moving from experimenting with generative AI to running it in production at scale. Spend is driven by tokens, model choice, inference patterns, and increasingly by agents that make their own consumption decisions. The AWS Billing organization processes millions of events per second to deliver the cost, usage, and optimization insights that power financial decisions at the world's largest enterprises. We are now extending that foundation to give customers the ability to understand, allocate, control, and optimize AI spend with the same rigor they apply to compute and storage today.

As Senior Manager, Product Management, you will own AWS's strategy for AI cost governance as a player-coach, personally driving the category-defining work while building the team that scales it. This is the highest-ambiguity, highest-leverage product space in the organization: the mechanics of tokenomics, attribution, and control for generative AI workloads are still being defined across the industry, and the decisions made here set the direction that partner service teams, enterprise customers, and eventually all industry players respond to. You will personally own the product bets that define the category, hire and develop the product managers who help you carry that ownership as it grows, and set the technical direction that other product managers across Billing and partner teams build against.

Responsibilities

Set the product vision and strategy for AI cost governance across internal and external customers. Own the strategy for the highest-ambiguity bets; coach your PMs to own the strategy within their scope.

Build the mechanisms your team uses to engage customers across channels and serve as the voice of the customer inside AWS.

Establish how customer feedback flows into product decisions, and use it to make the calls on where the team invests.

Own the full product lifecycle across your team's surface area, from strategic planning through tactical execution.

Partner with engineering and applied science leaders to deliver against the roadmap. Get into the technical details on the hardest architectural and agent-design trade-offs, and grow your PMs to do the same within their areas.

Define the goals, input metrics, and output metrics that measure success for the product experience.

Own the product roadmap for your area, integrating inputs from customers, engineering, science, and peer product teams. Make the prioritization calls and defend them to senior leadership.

Write and deliver the updates that go to VP and SVP audiences on the products, key launches, and strategic bets. Coach your PMs on the writing and communication skills that get their work to the same bar.

Hire, develop, and retain a high-performing PM team. Set the bar for product excellence, give direct feedback, and grow PMs into the next level.
