Google's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google’s needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. As a member of the Languages Capabilities team, your mission is to make YouTube the best platform for multilingual content. Our team leverages AI to democratize knowledge, making video dubbing and captioning easy and accessible for creators.
Responsibilities
Write product or system development code.\\\\nCollaborate with peers and stakeholders through design and code reviews to ensure best practices amongst available technologies (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).\\\\nDevelop an innovative and successful Dubbing experience for YouTube creators that makes it possible to dub at scale with state of the art technology (e.g., Gemini, Omni).\\\\nCollaborate with partner teams, such as Google Deepmind and YouTube Infrastructure teams, on rapid prototyping and bring the research to reality with solutions that can scale across YouTube.\\\\nEstablish evaluation frameworks, including AutoRaters to measure and iterate quickly.
Qualifications
Minimum
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.\\\\n2 years of experience with software development in C++, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.\\\\n1 year of experience with ML infrastructure (e.g., model deployment, model evaluation, optimization, data processing, debugging).\\\\nExperience prototyping and shipping ML products.\\\\nExperience designing and developing services catering user-facing traffic.
Preferred
Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.\\\\n2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms.\\\\n2 years of experience with applied ML and scaling the product.\\\\nExperience developing accessible technologies.\\\\nKnowledge/interest in video accessibility (dubbing, captions, translations).
