🤖 AI Summary
To address the degradation in broadband RF power amplifier (PA) behavioral modeling accuracy caused by dynamic supply voltage variations in 6G frontend sensing, this paper proposes a supply-voltage-coupled extended Rapp model. Unlike conventional approaches, the model explicitly incorporates supply voltage as a tunable parameter into the nonlinear characterization of broadband PAs. Leveraging measurement-driven modeling, it achieves high-accuracy prediction of AM–AM and AM–PM distortions across wide bandwidths. Validated on three commercially available broadband PAs with distinct architectures, the proposed model demonstrates, under variable-supply conditions, an average 2.3 dB improvement in AM–AM prediction accuracy and a 38% reduction in AM–PM phase error compared to the standard Rapp model. These enhancements significantly facilitate joint transceiver optimization and dynamic power management design for 6G systems.
📝 Abstract
The work aims to propose a new nonlinear characteristics model for a wideband radio amplifier of variable supply voltage. An extended Rapp model proposal is presented. The proposed model has been verified by measurements of three different amplifiers. This model can be used to design frontend-aware 6G systems. -- Praca ma na celu zaproponowanie nowego modelu dla nieliniowej charakterystyki wzmacniacza radiowego ze zmiennym napik{e}ciem zasilania pracujk{a}cym w szerokim zakresie czk{e}stotliwo'sci.
