Background
- Over 18 years of industrial R&D experience in microelectronics and communication systems, specializing in large system-on-chip (SoC) designs for wireless applications.
- Expertise spans analog, RF, mixed-signal, and digital circuit design, along with communication systems analysis and software development.
- Strong analytical skills and a holistic approach to innovation, optimizing solutions from circuit, system, architecture, process technology, and business perspectives.
- Led the design of dozens of full-custom mixed-signal ICs, all achieving first-pass silicon success.
- Transitioned to academia in July 2009; currently Full Professor at University College Dublin and holds a guest Full Professorship (Antoni van Leeuwenhoek Hoogleraar) at Delft University of Technology.
- Since 2014, leads a €6.3M SFI-funded center for IoT circuit design.
- Since 2017, engaged in realizing qubits using commercial CMOS quantum well structures and their integration with control electronics.
