Research Experience
- Assistant Professor at Indiana University Bloomington.
- Constructing deep reinforcement learning (RL) agents powered by cognitive models, integrating mental number line representations to enable structured neural coding of latent variables.
- Training agents on tasks analogous to those used in mammalian experiments and comparing their behavior and neural activity with biological data.
- Conducting behavioral experiments to investigate how the human brain represents and navigates dimensions of time (past/future) and space (real/conceptual).
- Using machine learning to identify temporally and spatially modulated neural populations from electrophysiological recordings.
- Developing computational models of mammalian spatial navigation, with a focus on the mechanisms of path integration.
