Research Experience
- Leads the IDEIAS + SERG lab, a merger of the IDEIAS lab (founded in 2010) and the Semiotic Engineering Research Group (SERG, founded in 1996)
- Currently co-coordinates DasLab, ExACTa, and Americanas Futuro Lab PUC-Rio
- Has led and participated in multiple R&D projects funded by CNPq, FAPERJ, Microsoft Research, Hewlett-Packard, Petrobras, etc.
- Served as the Brazilian Computer Society’s representative in IFIP TC13 (2008–2013), later becoming an expert member and Vice-chair for Working Groups and Special Interest Groups
- Chair of the Special Commission for HCI of the Brazilian Computer Society (2013–2015)
- Co-proposed the IFIP TC13 INTERACT Steering Committee in 2015 and remains a member
- Joined the CHI Steering Committee as a voting member in August 2019
- Co-Editor-in-Chief of ACM Interactions Magazine (October 2016 – September 2019)
- Former editorial board member of SBC Journal of Interactive Systems, Interacting with Computers, Springer's CCIS book series, and SBC Journal of Software Engineering Research and Development
- Currently serves on the editorial boards of IxD&A (since 2011) and Springer's HCI book series (since 2012)
- Has served in various roles on national and international conference committees, including program co-chair of CLIHC 2003, IHC 2013, IS-EUD 2017; full papers co-chair for INTERACT 2015 and 2025; general co-chair of INTERACT 2007, EICS 2012, and CHI 2022
