Involved in multiple projects such as the general framework for the design of Digital Twins; organized and participated in several international conferences and workshops, including Winter Simulation Conference, International Conference on Software Engineering, etc.
Research Experience
Currently a Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Antwerp; leads the MSDL (Modeling, Simulation, and Design Lab), which is part of the AnSyMo (Antwerp Systems and Software Modeling) group, also a Core Research Lab of Flanders Make. Was the chair of the EU COST Action IC1404 'Multi-Paradigm Modelling for Cyber-Physical Systems' from 2014 to 2019.
Education
PhD from the Department of Applied Mathematics and Process Control (Biomath) at Ghent University, supervised by Prof. Ghislain Vansteenkiste.
Background
Research interests include multi-paradigm modeling, modular language engineering, domain-specific (visual) modeling, co-simulation, model compilers, and software engineering. Focuses on the analysis and design of complex systems.
Miscellany
Also enjoys supporting collaborative/concurrent modeling and building tools for the next generation of analog computers.
