His main research interests are: adaptive behaviour for autonomous agents, machine learning and data analysis applied to mobility data (trajectories), biomedical sciences, logic circuit synthesis, evolutionary computation, and complex systems. Serves as an Associate Professor at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) and is a professor and advisor in the Computer Science Graduate Program (PPGCC) at UFSC. Additionally, he is a senior researcher fellow at the Institute of Cognitive Sciences and Technologies (ISTC) from the National Research Council (CNR), Italy.
