Currently leading a research program with Hannah Druckenmiller, Solomon Hsiang, and Anna Tompsett that digitizes historical aerial images to map long-term growth, institutional changes, and the economic impacts of climate events in developing countries.

In development economics, he examines entrepreneurship in low-income countries, financial product design, and gender disparities in credit and agricultural markets. In political economics, he explores how political protests shape beliefs, activism, and policy decisions, and how the collective experience of state violence influences attitudes, behavior, and governance in authoritarian regimes.
