Academic Achievements
Author of over 160 peer-reviewed publications. Spanish Editor of ERCIM News from 2011 to 2017. Currently, Senior Associate Editor for ACM Transactions on Software Engineering and Methodology (TOSEM) and an Associate Editor for IEEE Software and Automated Software Engineering (AUSE). Also serves as Departments Editor for IEEE Software and Co-Editor of its Practitioner’s Digest department. On the Editorial Board of Springer journal Software and Systems Modeling (SoSyM) and Advisory Editorial Board of Wiley Journal of Software: Practice and Experience (SPE). Served as General Co-Chair of ACM/IEEE 17th International Conference on Model Driven Engineering Languages and Systems (MODELS 2014), PC-Co Chair of MODELS 2020, and Chair of the MODELS Steering Committee. Currently, ACM-W: ACM Women in Computing Rising Star Award Committee Chair. Selected as the next ACM SIGSoft Research Highlights Chair.
Research Experience
Full Professor in the Department of Computer Systems and Computation at Universitat Politècnica de València and Director of the Master's Degree in Software Systems Engineering and Technology. Principal Researcher in eighteen research projects/contracts involving academic and industrial partners. Led the MULTIPLE project funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation in collaboration with Rolls-Royce Software Centre of Excellence. Recently led the Spanish Network of Excellence on Software Quality and Sustainability and the UCI-Adapt project.
Education
Ph.D. in Computer Science from Universitat Politècnica de València in 2004. Visiting professor at Carnegie Mellon University's Software Engineering Institute (2010 and 2012), Université catholique de Louvain (2007 and 2017), and Ghent University (2004).
Background
Full Professor of Software Engineering, with research interests including the use of AI techniques to support the adaptation of user interfaces, human factors in software engineering, quality assurance in model-driven engineering, empirical assessment of software modeling approaches, and the integration of usability/UX into software development.
