Research Experience
  • Served as an assistant professor at the University of Versailles St Quentin from 1998 to 2009; appointed as a full professor at Bordeaux INP in 2009 and joined Inria's Runtime team; created and led Inria's Storm team in 2017, while also being in charge of the Computer Science studies at the ENSEIRB-MATMECA engineering school, Bordeaux INP; on leave since 2023 to join the Huawei Paris research center.
Education
  • Graduated from ENS Lyon; obtained a PhD from the University of Versailles St Quentin in 1998, specializing in dependency analysis in the polyhedral model.

  • Full professor in Computer Science, with research interests focusing on optimization, parallel and distributed methods, compilation, and runtime systems for AI and high-performance computing applications. In recent years, his focus has been on the parallelization of AI, particularly for open-source LLMs, both for training and inference.
