Research Experience
- Serves as the technical manager of the Virtual Lab and Innovation Center (VLIC) of LifeWatch ERIC. Co-PI of the Dutch LTER-LIFE project and coordinates UvA's efforts in EU projects such as ENVRI-HUB next, EVERSE, OSCARS, and BlueCloud 2026. Led the SWITCH project, the Data for Science theme in the ENVRI PLUS project, and the technical development work packages in ENVRI-FAIR, ARTICONF, and CLARIFY projects.

- Received a Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Amsterdam in 2004.
Background
- Research interests include quality-critical distributed computing, data-intensive workflow management, virtual research environments, and digital twins. Currently an associate professor and the chair of the Multiscale Network Systems (MNS) research group at the University of Amsterdam.
