Published 'Tuning Timbre Spectrum Scale' (second edition now available) and 'Rhythm and Transforms'. Also published numerous papers and developed audio processing algorithms including a Phase Vocoder and Channel Vocoder.
Research Experience
Research projects include detecting periodicities in data and automatically identifying rhythmic structures in musical performances. Teaches courses such as ECE401: Electroacoustic Engineering, ECE415: System Modeling and Identification, and ECE330: Signals and Systems. Co-authored 'Telecommunication Breakdown'.
Background
Research Interests: System identification, signal processing, and musical acoustics. Specializes in algorithm stability, convergence analysis, equalization, and perception-based audio. Focuses on the relationship between timbre and tuning.
Miscellany
Personal interests include music composition, particularly experimental music and alternate tunings.
