Research Experience
Leads the cybersecurity research group at the School of Computing, Southern Illinois University Carbondale, focusing on the security of intelligent systems throughout their entire lifecycle, with a particular emphasis on large language models (LLMs), vision-language models (VLMs), and generative AI forensics.

Research interests include behavioral privacy risks, trustworthy AI design, lifecycle-based security and auditing frameworks, as well as achieving robustness, fairness, and explainability. Specializes in enhancing the security, privacy, and trustworthiness of artificial intelligence (AI) systems.

Research also covers mobile and wearable platforms, augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) technologies, examining new vectors for leakage and manipulation introduced by multimodal inputs. Additionally, explores federated and distributed learning frameworks to support collaborative intelligence while preserving data sovereignty and reducing centralized vulnerabilities.
