Academic Achievements
- Has multiple PhD, Master's, and undergraduate students in the lab. Past research work was funded by the DoD and had applications for the NSA.
Research Experience
- Currently leading the Freeman Multimedia Lab at Baylor University, focused on tackling problems in multimedia computing and systems. Actively recruiting new research assistants (both graduate and undergraduate). Ideal candidates should have experience with low-level programming (C, C++, or Rust). Other desired skills include networking, machine learning, statistics, FPGA programming, and CUDA.
Background
- Research interests include video codecs, video streaming, large-scale video surveillance, data compression, practical and scalable deep learning systems, point cloud video, event cameras, computer vision, neuromorphic computing, and spiking neural networks. Past research was largely funded by the DoD, with applications for the NSA.
