Received the Young Scientists’ Prize from the Commendation for Science and Technology by MEXT (2015), and the Kisoi Motohiro Award (2015). Involved in multiple research projects, such as studies on high-quality stereohaptic vibration displays.
Research Experience
Joined the Graduate School of Information Sciences, Tohoku University, as an Assistant Professor in 2005. Currently a Professor leading the Embodied Intelligence and Robotics Laboratory.
Education
Received B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in engineering from Kobe University, Japan, in 1999, 2001, and 2004, respectively.
Background
Research interests include haptic interfaces, tactile sensing, virtual reality, and disaster response robotics.
