Faculty member at FAST NU Lahore between 2005 and 2010; at ITU between 2015 and 2019; and at LUMS since 2020. Also, the founding director of the Center for Speech and Language Technologies (CSaLT) at LUMS (previously at ITU).
Education
PhD in Computer Science with a specialization in Language Technologies from the Language Technologies Institute, School of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University. Advised by Roni Rosenfeld.
Background
Research interests include Speech and Natural Language Processing, Speech-based Human Computer Interfaces, Machine Learning, and Information & Communication Technologies for Development (ICT4D). Teaches Machine Learning, Speech Processing, and Data Structures at both graduate and undergraduate levels.
