Academic Achievements
  • Received several awards for papers at top-tier venues, including Best Paper Award at EuroVis 2022, Best Paper Award at CSCW 2020, Honorable Mention Award at CHI 2022, and Honorable Mention Award at DIS 2021. A paper was accepted at TVCG 2023. Awarded PIT@UMass Faculty Fellowship.

  • PhD in Computer Science from the University of Victoria, Canada, supervised by Dr. Melanie Tory in 2016; Master of Software Engineering from the University of Malaya, Malaysia; Honors Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Science Malaysia. Postdoctoral fellow at the University of California San Diego from 2016-2028, working with Prof. Nadir Weibel at UCSD Design Lab.

  • A data visualization researcher primarily interested in exploring the intersection where the human component meets analytics, design, and technology. Research interests include visual analytics, emerging technologies (such as analysis provenance tracking, differential privacy, and generative AI), and empirical studies on graphical perception. Committed to advancing the field of data visualization both theoretically and practically.
