Academic Achievements
  • Published over 100 papers in international and domestic journals and conferences such as TKDE, VLDBJ, TPDS, VLDB, and ICDE, with more than 50 CCF A/B class papers. Authored books including 'New Database Systems: Principles, Architecture, and Practice', 'Database Systems and Applications', 'Principles and Applications of Databases', 'Fundamentals of Database Systems', and 'Mobile Object Databases'. Received awards such as the Best Student Paper Award at NDBC 2025, the Outstanding Teacher Award from the School for the Gifted Young at USTC in 2023, and the Longhu Excellent Teaching Award from USTC in 2022.
Research Experience
  • Visited the University of Kaiserslautern, Germany, as a visiting scholar in 2009 (cooperating professor: Prof. Theo Härder); conducted collaborative research at Aalborg University, Denmark, from 2014 to 2015 (cooperating professor: Prof. Christian S. Jensen). Recently, he has led several projects including 5 National Natural Science Foundation of China projects, 2 National 863 projects, and multiple enterprise cooperation projects such as Huawei Innovation Research Program, Tencent Rhinoceros Fund, CCF-Huawei Poplar Forest Fund, ByteDance Innovation Cooperation Project, and CETC University Cooperation Fund.
Education
  • Received a Ph.D. in Computer Software and Theory from the University of Science and Technology of China in 2003; conducted postdoctoral research at the Information and Communication Engineering Postdoctoral Station of the University of Science and Technology of China from September 2003 to August 2005.
Background
  • Associate Professor, doctoral supervisor, and director of the Computer Application Research Laboratory. Member of IEEE and ACM, distinguished member of the China Computer Federation, executive committee member of the Database Committee, and corresponding member of the Big Data Expert Committee. Research interests include database systems and applications, big data storage and management, and Web information extraction and retrieval.
