Paper 'A Scalable Approach to Probabilistic Neuro-Symbolic Robustness Verification' received the Outstanding Paper Award (best paper) at NeSy 2025. Paper 'Neuro-symbolic Complex Event Recognition in Autonomous Driving' accepted at ANSyA 2025.
Research Experience
Tenured researcher (Grade C) at the Institute of Informatics & Telecommunications of the National Center for Scientific Research (NCSR) “Demokritos”. Member of the Complex Event Recognition group (CER) at the SKEL AI lab. Extensive experience in European research projects, participating in several H2020 and Horizon Europe initiatives. Currently serves as technical manager of the EU-funded project EVENFLOW, coordinating research on trustworthy neuro-symbolic techniques for complex event forecasting.

BSc in Mathematics from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki; MSc in Mathematical Logic and Theory of Computation from National & Kapodistrian University of Athens; PhD in Machine Learning from the University of Athens.

His research interests revolve around combinations of machine learning with knowledge representation and reasoning towards improving the transparency, robustness, and trustworthiness of learning-based AI systems. He has a special interest in neuro-symbolic AI and logic-based learning.
