Academic Achievements
  • Received the Blackwell-Rosenbluth award of j-ISBA for Bayesian statistics in 2023. Selected as one of the Forbes under 30 in Science and Healthcare, part of the full class of Forbes Europe 2022.
Research Experience
  • Currently holds a Marie Sklodowska Curie Fellowship (MSCA postdoctoral fellowship) under Horizons Europe. Was a Lecturer at Imperial College London from 2022-2023. Part of the Machine Learning & Global Health Network, a multi-organisation network across the UK, Denmark, Singapore, and Germany.
Education
  • Since September 2023, a Lecturer at the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Cyprus & an Honorary/Visiting Lecturer at Imperial College London, within the Department of Mathematics and Imperial X, a new center for driving innovation in digital technologies, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.
Background
  • Research interests lie in the broad area of statistical machine learning with a broader goal to build methods that combine the strengths of statistics and computation aspiring to answer scientific questions with impact in real life. Interests include Bayesian non-parametrics, random graph modelling, spatiotemporal modelling, stochastic processes, deep generative models within the scope of explainable Machine Learning, and stochastic processes in the context of language modelling with large language models.
Miscellany
  • Co-supervising Marta Aparicio Rodriguez (Imperial College London) with Anastasia Borovykh and Greg Pavliotis on Explainable Machine Learning focusing on deep generative models. Open to discussing PhD opportunities at the University of Cyprus or Imperial College.
