AAIA Fellow and member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts. Received a 2021 Qualcomm Faculty Award.

Senior Member of Technical Staff at General Electric Corporate Research and Development Center from July 1994 to July 1999; Principal Member of Technical Staff at AT&T Shannon Laboratory from August 1999 to July 2003; Joined UT Dallas as a tenured Associate Professor in August 2003, became Full Professor in 2007, and Erik Jonsson Distinguished Professor in 2010.
