Published numerous significant papers in the field of medical physics, particularly in digital mammography. Involved in pioneering work on contrast-enhanced digital breast tomosynthesis.
Research Experience
Currently leads the University of Pennsylvania X-ray Physics Laboratory (XPL), which is part of the Radiology Department's Physics Section. The lab focuses on high-level research in breast cancer imaging technologies.
Background
Focused on the development of advanced methods for breast cancer imaging, including digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT) and functional breast imaging. Research also includes modeling and developing novel imaging systems, characterizing system performance and observer performance, and developing novel image-based biomarkers for breast cancer risk assessment and prognosis.
