Research Experience
Before joining Durham, he was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow and a Lecturer at the School of Computing, Engineering and Physical Sciences of the University of the West of Scotland, UK (2016-2020), as well as a junior researcher/PhD candidate at the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece (2009-2016). He is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA) since 2017.

He holds a BSc (Hons.) degree in Informatics and Telecommunications from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece, an MSc in Computer Science from the Athens University of Economics and Business, Greece, and a PhD degree in Computer Science from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece.

His research interests lie in the fields of applied machine learning, bioinformatics, health informatics, affective computing, image analysis, image and video quality, and GPU computing.
