Evans Leaders Fund (JELF) from Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI), Industry r&D Associates Grant from Alberta Innovates Technology Futures (AITF), Industrial Postdoctoral Fellowship (NSERC-IRDF) from Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada, and Canada Graduate Scholarship (CGS D) from NSERC. Best Paper Award at the 2005 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing (ICASSP). Served as Associate Editor for several journals and chaired sessions at international conferences.
Research Experience
Before joining UBC, she worked as an Assistant Professor with the Department of Computer Science, Lakehead University, Canada and as a Research Scientist/Software Engineer with IntelliView Technologies Inc., Canada. She has over 15 years of research and development experience in image/video processing, computer vision, pattern recognition, and machine learning.

PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from The University of British Columbia, Vancouver, BC, Canada in 2009.
