Academic Achievements
- Distinguished Young Scholar supported by the National Science Fund, IEE/IET Fellow; rewarded the Distinguished S&T Achievement Award of Chinese Electrical Engineering Society, the prize of Distinguished Young Engineer of Chinese Electrical Engineering Society, and enrolled in Program for New Century Excellent Talents in University by Ministry of Education; PI for 6 grants supported by National Science Foundation of China, dozens research projects granted from Department of Science & Technology and Industry Corporations.
Research Experience
- Developed online dynamic security assessment & preventive control system, wide area coordinated & distributed dispatcher simulator, FDNE based TSA-EMT hybrid real-time simulator for AC/DC networks; proposed and implemented hierarchical distribution management system including local cluster control, distribution network optimization, and transmission & distribution networks coordination; developed a hierarchical model predictive control based power dispatch & control system to accommodate large scale wind power integration; as a core developer, developed energy management system deployed in over 70 power system control centers located in 23 provincial power grids.
Background
- Professor, Deputy Director of the State Key Laboratory of Power Systems, and Director of Electric Power System Research Institute, Department of Electrical Engineering, Tsinghua University. Research directions include bulk power grid energy management and operation control, active distribution networks/energy internet operation optimization and control, machine learning and its application in energy systems.
