Academic Achievements
  • He has authored more than 250 peer-reviewed articles and 12 books and textbooks in the fields of Data Mining, Business Intelligence, Business Analytics, AI/Machine Learning, and Data Science. He is the editor-in-chief for the Journal of Business Analytics and the Journal of AI in Business (in Frontiers in Artificial Intelligence), senior editor for the Journal of Decision Support Systems, Decision Sciences, and Journal of Business Research, associate editor for Decision Analytics and International Journal of RF Technologies, and is on the editorial boards of several other academic journals. He has received several research and teaching awards, including the prestigious Fulbright Scholar, regents' Distinguished Teacher and Researcher, president's Outstanding Researcher, and Big Data Mentor awards.
Research Experience
  • Prior to his academic tenure at OSU, he worked as a research scientist for five years at a privately owned research and consultancy company, leading several advanced analytics research projects funded by federal agencies such as DoD, NASA, and NIST. Since 2012, he has been a Professor of Management Science & Information Systems at Oklahoma State University; since July 2016, he has been a Regents Professor; since January 2013, he has been the Director of Research at the Center for Health Systems Innovation; from June 2013 to August 2013, he was a Fulbright Scholar at Sabanci University; from July 2007 to June 2012, he was an Associate Professor at Oklahoma State University; from July 2009 to January 2010, he was a Visiting Scholar at Sabanci University; from August 2001 to June 2007, he was an Assistant Professor at Oklahoma State University; from August 1994 to December 1996, he was a Research Associate at Oklahoma State University; from August 1996 to December 1996, he was a Teaching Assistant/Instructor at Oklahoma State University.
