Academic Achievements
  • Research has been implemented as decision aids by governmental and non-governmental organizations. For instance, HEALER and CHANGE have been deployed at three nonprofits in Los Angeles: Safe Place for Youth, My Friend's Place, and Los Angeles LGBT center. Additionally, TRIM-AI has been continuously deployed at Jacaranda Health since July 2022.
Research Experience
  • Led the development of HEALER and CHANGE, two AI decision support systems aimed at reducing HIV (and other STIs) incidence among homeless youth in America; Developed TRIM-AI, an AI system aiding Jacaranda Health (a non-profit in Kenya) in accurately triaging medical symptoms faced by pregnant women and new mothers; Created profit prediction systems for Indian farmers to aid their economic empowerment; Also developed decision support systems promoting social empowerment for poor farmers in Chhattisgarh, India.

  • Ph.D. in Computer Science from USC, advised by Milind Tambe (now at Harvard).
