Published extensively in the fields of software engineering, information systems, and project management; co-edited the book 'Agile Software Development: Current Research and Future Directions' (2010), and special issues/sections in the Journal of Systems and Software (2012), Information and Software Technology (2016), and IEEE Software (2019); received SINTEF's award for outstanding research with Nils Brede Moe in 2020; awarded the Project Management Institute ‘paper of the year’ award in 2019 for an article on coordination of knowledge work in larger-scale agile development.
Research Experience
Conducts research as a professor at the Department of Computer Science, NTNU, focusing on teamwork and learning in software development, as well as development methods for large software projects and programs; has been program co-chair for the International Conference on Agile Software Development (2015) and for the Evaluation and Assessment in Software Engineering (EASE) Conference (2019).
Background
Research interests include process improvement and knowledge management in software companies. Specifically focused on agile development methods, teamwork in software development, and coordination in large-scale development projects.
Miscellany
Holds an adjunct position as a chief scientist in the effective digitization of the public sector at SimulaMet; teaches introductory courses in digital product development and offers master’s level courses on process improvement.
