He is the initiator and director of national and international level projects related to GIS and Iran's National ICT Development Plan. Dr. Alesheikh has received numerous awards and honors for his industrial, scientific, and academic contributions.
Research Experience
From 1995 to 1997, he was a Research Assistant/Teaching Assistant at the Department of Geomatics, University of Calgary, Canada; from 1997 to 1999, he worked as a Product Manager at MRF Geosystems Corporation, Calgary, Canada; since July 1999, he has been with K.N. Toosi University of Technology, Tehran, Iran.
Education
Received his Ph.D. in Geospatial Information System (GIS) Engineering from the University of Calgary, Canada, in 1997; previously, he earned a B.Sc. in Surveying Engineering from K.N. Toosi University of Technology, Iran, and an M.Eng. in Geomatics Engineering from the University of New Brunswick, Canada.
Background
Research interests include geospatial analysis, internet mapping, and distributed GIS services. Currently, a full professor of GIS Engineering at K.N. Toosi University of Technology.
