Research Experience
Assistant Professor of Global Communications and Climate Change at LUT University. Current project is 'Imagining Sustainable Digital Futures: Outlines for Eco-Digital Agency' (Research Council of Finland, 2022-2025). The project aims to develop methods to foster creative and radical imagination that challenges and resists the taken-for-grantedness of digital everyday life and its injustices and unsustainabilities.
Education
Defended her thesis 'Imaginaries of Agency in the Landscapes of Code' in 2020 at Tampere University.
Background
A digital sustainability scholar, interested in questions on imagination and alternative futures, the environmental footprint of digital technologies and lifestyle, agency, power, and resistance. In her interdisciplinary research, she combines critical internet studies, science and technology studies, environmental social science, human-computer interaction, radical pedagogics, and futures studies.
