Prior to joining East Tennessee State University Bill Gatton College of Pharmacy, he held roles as Core Facility Manager, Research Scientist, and Instructor at Marquette University School of Dentistry, Instructor at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, and Chief Scientific Officer at a biotech startup in San Francisco. He has mentored a diverse group of students in DDS and residency programs at Marquette, as well as PharmD students at UW–Madison.

Research interests include nanomedicine: formulation, biodistribution, safety, efficacy; combination therapy for cancer treatment; functional precision medicine; and application of computational modeling for design and screening of nanocarriers.
