Published multiple papers such as a new paper on life-cycle fragility analysis of bridges (Oct 2025), a publication on cast glass topology optimization (May 2025); obtained a US patent (Aug 2025); participated in several international conferences and delivered keynotes or contributed papers, including the 14th ICOSSAR (Jul 2025), IABMAS conference (Jul 2024).
Research Experience
Serves as an Assistant Professor of AI for Structures & Materials at TU Delft and co-directs the AiDAPT Lab. The research focuses on developing methods for resilient and sustainable design and intervention planning. Applications of interest include structural intervention planning, risk assessment against stressors & hazards, generative design and optimization, value of structural health information quantification, and probabilistic modeling of engineering systems.
Background
Assistant Professor of AI for Structures & Materials at TU Delft. Co-director of AiDAPT Lab, focusing on decision-making under uncertainty for engineering systems in the built world. Research interests span structural mechanics, building engineering, uncertainty quantification, risk and reliability, optimization, and stochastic optimal control, particularly where these fields intersect with machine learning.
