EurAI Fellow (2010), elected member of ISI (2013), and IEEE Fellow (2017); created Transactions on Data Privacy (JCR and Scopus indexed) and the MDAI conference series (CORE-B conference). Authored 8 monographs and numerous papers. Main collaborators include Y. Narukawa (Tamagawa U., Japan), G. Navarro-Arribas, and J. Salas (U.A.Barcelona).
Research Experience
Leading the PrivAcy-AWare traNSparent deCIsions research group at the Department of Computing Science, Umeå University, Sweden. Involved in multiple research projects, such as 'Privacy-aware secure explainable data-driven models in federated learning' funded by the Swedish Research Council.
Background
Research interests include data privacy (covering all kinds of SQL and no-SQL databases, including graphs, dynamic graphs, smart grids, text/language models, as well as different types of ML e.g., centralized, federated learning) and approximate reasoning (focusing on topics such as non-additive measures and integrals, game theory, optimal transport, fuzzy sets and systems). Also has some work on machine unlearning.
