Serves as an Associate Editor of the Journal of Data Science, Statistics, and Visualisation and an Editorial Board Reviewer for the Journal of Machine Learning Research; was the Founding Chair of the Young Section of the Irish Statistical Association (2019 - 2021).
Research Experience
Currently a Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Statistics within the School of Mathematics and Statistics at University College Dublin; teaches statistical machine learning, deep learning, and artificial intelligence at graduate and postgraduate levels; has experience designing and delivering courses on statistical programming and statistical network analysis to PhD students; serves as the programme director for the BSc/BA/BScSocSc degrees in Statistics; leads the UCD School of Mathematics and Statistics Working Group on Statistical Learning and the Statistics and Actuarial Science seminar series.
Background
Research interests include developing novel statistical and machine learning methods for analyzing high-dimensional and complex data. Works at the intersection of methodological and applied statistics, often motivated by data-driven challenges in scientific and interdisciplinary research. Interests also cover latent variable models, network analysis, clustering, classification, and dimension reduction.
