Teaches two second cycle robotics courses and has been involved in multiple research projects. Has spent two longer visits at the Intelligent Robotics and Communication Laboratory at ATR in Japan.
Research Experience
Current research projects include:
- Collaborating with industry to explore the combination of supervised and unsupervised learning for mobile manipulation and assembly in small-scale manufacturing.
- Focusing on human-robot handovers, trying to learn effective policies for generating handover motions and controlling object transfer.
Education
Received a MSc in Engineering Physics from KTH in 2005, and a PhD in Computer Science from KTH in 2009. Since 2018, he is a docent in Computer Science - Robotics and Autonomous Systems.
Background
Associate professor in Computer Science - Robotics and Autonomous Systems. Specializes in human-centric robotics, particularly in manipulation under different types of uncertainty. Research areas include robot control, design, and teleoperation, human tracking and motion modeling, reinforcement learning, and both physical and social aspects of HRI.
Miscellany
Philosophy in teaching emphasizes the importance of large amounts of practice and exposure to realistic problems.
