Research Experience
  • Lecturer at the School of Computing Technologies at RMIT University, Assistant Professor at ESPOL, Ecuador, and Research Associate at the Centre for Learning Analytics at Monash University, Australia.
Background
  • I am a Lecturer at the School of Computing Technologies at RMIT University and an Assistant Professor at ESPOL, Ecuador. My research is focused on the design, development, and evaluation of digital technologies that are customised to meet the specific needs of stakeholders. I delve into the richness and complexity of both physical and digital environments, utilising AI-driven analytics and human-centred design methods to capture behavioural and interactional multimodal data through a variety of sensors, devices, and software. These data streams are complex yet informative and provide critical insights that support the development of digital tools (i.e., dashboards) designed to enhance and extend the capabilities of our stakeholders. My work is situated in a transdisciplinary research space where I leverage the disciplines of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and Artificial Intelligence (AI), fostering co-design approaches with users to ensure that intelligent solutions are not only adaptable but also adopted according to users’ needs. The practical applications of my research have been applied in educational contexts, from K-12 to Higher Education, by supporting the development of STEM skills, advancing healthcare education, and facilitating team-based learning.
